We finally outsmarted our cat Ricky. He figured out how to open up the drawers in Abby's dresser where her socks were. He has a sock fettish. So he ruined all of her socks. We were having to just keep the bedroom door closed but every now and then we would forget or he would sneek in and have a ball with all her socks. Well we have now outsmarted him. We put all her socks in a wipe container in the drawer. He can't open it! so now we can leave the door open and not worry. He keeps opening all the drawers looking for the socks but he hasn't figured it out yet. Plus he won't be able to open it if he does. moo ha ha. love being smarter then the cat.

So its 2008. Abby is 6 months old. She's growing so fast. She's such a cutie. Her new thing is screaming. Matt and her had a screaming contest yesterday on video. Its quiet funny. She has 2 teeth coming in and is eating peas and carrots now. Next week is a fruit. But for now its peas and carrots. I'm debating about entering her into this Parents mag/Regis and Kelly live most beautiful baby thing. We could win like $100 or something like that. I looked at the gallery of photos on there and I think Abby is cuter then most of them. Though I am partial cause she is my daughter. hmm yes. But which picture do I choose? hmm yes.

I cna't believe its already 2008. it just seems like time has flown by. and way to fast. every day just speeds by. the holidays have been nice though. Actually seeing Matt for days in a row has been a nice. Plus I'm no longer working till 11. yey. So I at least get to see him for like a half hour each night.

I'm so proud of us. Our house is incredibly clean right now. very organized too. But I now need to make a trip to goodwill to empty out the junk in my car. yeah. I also need to go pick up Abby's santa pictures.

haven't posted in awhile. been busy. Abby is eating. She is so funny when she eats rice cerial. she's been really cranky yesterday and today but we can't figure out why. last night i ended up getting off at 9:30 instead of 11. I then spent an hour in the rocking chair/hanging over the crib to get Abby to sleep. she only took 2 45 minute naps earlier in the day. I'm wondering if its gas. she's been gassy out the poop shoot lately. maybe its the increase in formula thats doing it. or maybe the rice cerial. she's pooping fine though so its not that. and her gums look normal no begining of teeting so its not that. just can't figure it out. i put her down for a nap like an hour ago and it was a no go. so then i tried feeding her more cause she had drifted to sleep before that and put her down again like 20 minutes ago. she is still not asleep. that crazy baby. oi.

christmas is almost here. its been going way to fast. need to make lots of presents. sigh. but yey. i just need to find time to work on them or else nobody will have finished presents. boo hoo. plus i have to make Abby's stocking and possibly Matt's and mine's as well. (new matchy ones...fun fun). my goal for the stockings is only Abby's and I'll make ours later on for next christmas.

I'm also super excited cause Matt was able to score a side job that will hopefully give us some money to pay off some bills and maybe have a little for christmas presents. maybe just maybe. but now i have to figure out what I want...which isn't much. hmm need ideas. hopefully this weekend I'll get ideas.

much has been going on but not much time to type. need to go check on the baby and see if she's secretly fell asleep and maybe I'm just imagening the crying noise (I do that sometimes).

so one of my legs is shorter then the other by 12mm. thats actually a big difference. if you've ever watched me walk you won't be surprised by that fact of knowledge. i walk with a noticable limp. so the chiropracter ordered orthodics. but the problem is that the 12mm lift on them is to much to fit into a shoe! so they either have to build it onto a shoe (expensive) or only give me a 9mm lift which is what I've been walking around with for a month now. i just hope this time they come in faster. they were supposed to take 2 weeks and they took a month before. i hate wearing my dorkey tennis shoes with everything. they really don't match. plus they stink cause of my entire no sock thing. i should really start wearing socks....horrible socks.

so thats the story. i just want cute shoes. hopefully these orthodics will work an help my back problems and whatnot.

why am i always the difficult case? why?

i miss photography. i wish i had the time for it. i wish i had the eye for it. ok maybe i have the eye....sometimes. i don't think I've ever fully gotten over my failures. or at least the failures spoken to me. i remember when I first picked it up I LOVED it. then my second year i started to feel apathetic about it because i was told i wasn't good enough. that i didn't put enough into it. i went to college to pursue it and rediscover it and was told the same thing over and over. i don't think i was ever really told i was good in college. i don't think i ever felt encouraged. hence why 5 years later (is it really 5?) I still struggle with my love for art and my feelings of inadequacy. i see what others can do and think they are just better then me. that i'll never be that good.

i really need to just go somewhere and rediscover things. take my camera and just find things. to document who knows what. i need to find my curiousity again. my eye for the unseen.

sigh.

Abby's crying. i need to go take care of her and stop worrying about this....

i got lifts in my shoes on friday. since then my back started hurting again. i can't wait for the orthodics, cause they will make it all better and no evil backpain. the backpain is from walking around the house not wearing shoes, i.e. no lift. but i'm not a shoe in house person, and not a slippers person either. so my back has been huting. lame. stinking one leg shorter then the other!

Abby has not been taking naps lately. she is also eating more frequently or longer. i wish she would take naps. i think i'm going to try to force her to do it. I tried to force her to go to bed last night and she cried for like a half hour, so finally i went in there and fed her and rocked her till she was sleepy. my girls hurt though because of all this extra feeding and for longer. i think she just went through a growth spurt too. but maybe this growth spurt is going to last forever?

and the little monkey can sleep for quiet a while, once she gets to sleep. she sleeps through the night for almost 9 hours! which is awesome but then no naps. can't she just sleep for like 8 hours and then nap?....silly monkey.

so abby has been acting kinda bored with some of her toys lately. so yesterday we went and got her some new ones. we got a new bouncy seat that has lights and sounds and vibrating motion. the old one was given to us as a hand me down and played weird newagey music and "massaged" which Abby didn't really like. we also got her a bumbo chair cause we've heard those are pretty cool. they put your baby into a safe sitting position and you can put them up on places so they can sit and watch you. its pretty cool. i think she'll really enjoy that cause she loves sitting up though she can't keep that position on her own. we got her some small play toys too. i'm hoping she'll enjoy these things. cause she has been acting really really bored lately.

oh and her eyes are turning. they no longer look blue but a kinda grey green right now. goodbye my blue eyed genes. i think her canadian genes are beating out my american ones right now. at least on the eye color side of things.

our cat Ricky is way to smart for his own good. He's now figured out which drawer Abby's socks are in and how to open that drawer. Darn smart cat! Now I have to remember to close the bedroom door so he doesn't get in there and have a sock party.

Last night we actually called the cops on our neighbor. unfortunatly it didn't do anything. someone was pounding on the neighbors door (front and back) for like an hour last night. it was very loud. it woke both me and matt up. so finally i called the cops and told them of the suspicious activity. unfortunatly the neighbor buy finally let the person in like a minute before the cops came, so there was nothing for them to see. boo. i am going to put in a complaint though with our apartment manager. this kinda stuff has been going on for way to long. shesh.

Abby is doing pretty good. She's been a bit more fussy lately when I leave for work though. my mom notices it the most poor thing. but i know its just a phase because she misses me. She hasn't managed to re-roll over yet. but she's very close. she's such a little goof. Oh and she finally laughed at me too. i think it was over nothing, or matt hitting me with her rattle. i don't know but it was totally at me. yey i'm funny!

my back has been killing me all week. so i finally went to a chiropracter on Friday. so far he hasn't done anything except evaluate and xrays. i go in on Monday to discuss it all. i just want my back to start feeling better. i hate how sore it is every morning.

so yeah, thats life for ya.

I took Abby to see my grandparents today. we had a good time. While we were there Abby decided to show off and roll over!! She was on her tummy and just rolled over onto her back. She had the funniest facial expression after it. Like wow did I do that. so awesome! She's such an amazing little baby!!

now its off to work for me. i'm doing ok with it. just hate it though. i hate not seeing Matt much. and missing out on things like my brothers rehersal dinner. (that was last night) I guess Abby was the life of the party last night.

i'm watching my cat try to catch a small fly. its very entertaining.

Me and Abby went to baby reading time today. It was fun. At first there was mainly older babies (9 months) then a cute 6 month old boy showed up. Him and Abby kept staring at each other. Baby flirting is cute. Then a 3 1/2 month girl and a 7 week old boy showed up. I think this will be fun. It was basically a book read then some nursery rhymes and some play time.

Abby rawks. Yesterday right before I left for work she grabbed hold of her monkey toy and held onto it for like 5 minutes. it was awesome. I'm wondering if she's going to be a lefty cause she keeps grabbing with left and just punching with righty. I'm so glad I got to see her do that. The day before she grabbed them for a second but didn't hold on. I missed that one. Its hard working. but thankfully its so short that the time goes pretty fast. its just hard coming home and seeing her sleeping. she's so adorable. She's being so goofy so far today. man i just love my daughter.

just survived my first day back at work. i am only going back part time and working 4pm-9pm m-f. it was so hard. i cried like a baby while driving there. my mom was a bit late getting here too so that added to it. plus other stupid things like my nalgene missing and couldn't find batteries for my pump. but i survived. i missed her like crazy. i wish she was awake right now so i could hold her and cuddle with her. but she's asleep...this will be a tough change. but we got to do it for the time being.

my drivers license expired!!! oops. I forgot that this year was the year i had to renew it. I'm going in first thing in the morning to take care of it....doh. thankfully i realized this on my own (at blockbuster) instead of being pulled over for it. oh and i did need to update my address anyways so its a good time to go do that!

i seroiusly have to laugh at myself sometimes. i've noticed since I was pregnant I get so much more teary eyed about stuff. especially stories about kids or babies. i was watching the news and they told a story about a baby delievered on a shrimp boat in texas. i got teary eyed. silly me.

now there is something on tv about boxing couples. maybe me and matt should try that....or not. whats funny about it is that the wives are the ones who get to hit. the guys just block and defend...interesting.

i go back to work in a week and a half. still need to work out daycare stuff. i'm going back part time and working nights (4pm-9pm). That way Abby will only need to be watched for a couple hours each day. i'm going to miss her so much but at least its only at night and she won't have to be watched by someone for to long.

off to enjoy my day with my goofy daughter.

Abby had her shots yesterday! She hated it poor little thing. The Nurse was a bit slow on them and so she would cry, start to calm down a bit and then cry really loud again cause the next shot would come. Last night she was a bit fussy too (understandably). But so far this morning she seems to be fine. She has been sleeping so well lately. At least 6-9 hours in a row at night. On average about 8 hours. She is such an amazing baby i tell ya. She's doing awesome with her neck and she can hold her head up on her tummy to at least 45 degrees (though I would say more then that).

She is now 22.5 inches long and 10 1/2 pounds! She is at about the 50 percentile for both which means she's right on target!

Tomorrow I go into work to talk about what shift I'll be working when I go back. Less then 2 weeks left of this! =(
I so enjoy being a housewife though. I just need to learn to cook better and then I would be the coolest. Someday I'll get to stay at home with my baby...someday.

we now have windows vista on our computer. our computer got a virus or something and then we had to go and buy windows vista because our copy of xp turned out to be non legit and therefore dumb. so we had to go get a new one, turns out you also have to have a dvd drive because microsoft sucks. they think everyone has a dvd drive on their computer or something. boo them. so it sucks, but hey we now have a good operatiing system that doesn't pop up stupid messages all the time and whatnot. but now the lame part of having to re-install stuff.

So Abby is totally smiling now. She has the cutest smile. She is also starting to hold her head pretty well. I was holding her up in my arm and she sat there holding up her head really strongly for like 10 minutes. i'm so amazed at her. she's just so awesome. she's very alert and awake.

i'm such a dunce. i accidently had Matt throw away my favorite sweatshirt yesterday. It was in a target bag in a box that had some trash in it. why was it in that box, i don't know. but then I started putting trash in the box and thought it was all trash. so i had matt take it to the dumpster yesterday. then today i realized what I had done. i looked myself in the dumpster (well stared at it) but didn't see it on top. so i had to have matt do it. poor guy, he must really love me cause he went and found it in the dumpster for me. so thankfully i didn't loose my favorite sweatshirt. i have a bad habbit of loosing them. or when Lucy was a puppy she chewed holes in like 3 of my favorites. thankfully she doesn't do that anymore.

Matt got himself a work truck. so stage one of buisness is a go. he also has a job lined up (i think). its a small one but a start. oh and his truck is beautiful. he got a good deal on his trade in. (like an amazing deal) oh and good side to truck, its an automatic so i can drive it! yey. and its a beautiful blue. midnight blue. its a dodge dakota i think. so now we have that and just need to get the rest going. we found out that a buisness license takes like a month to get. so we need to start that up stat. and some sort of tsx id # too. this is pretty freaking exciting.

oh and i have a stalker. his name is ricky. he's my cat. this morning he was right outside my bedroom door. like right outside it. then i was walking to the kitchen to get some breakfast and i kept hearing this funny purring sound following me. it was him. he was trying to stalk me. silly ricky. i think he's in love with me.

It was quiet funny though. We had just given her a bath and I had her wrapped up in a towel in my arms. Matt came over and we were being all cute with her when she started getting this slightly mischevious smile on her face. Matt comments on it and then I feel it....pee coming out of the towel onto me! It was good times. Funny baby. peeing on me.
